Well, the interview went quite well. I probably said about 1,000 words all told and I suspect that at least 500 of them were, ‘um.’ Apart from that it was fun. I hadn’t realised how much harder it would be to do a phone interview than it is to do one face to face.
Lesley Dolphin, the host, clearly liked the books or at least, the bits she’d read and is going to give them away over the next few weeks so, my local peps, keep listening if you’d like to try and bag a free copy courtesy of BBC Radio Suffolk!
You can find the interview here, it starts at 2:08.05 and runs for about 10 minutes.
MTM – aka MARY!?!
Your interview starts at 02:08:15 on the Podcast (unless anyone WANTS to listen to the music and news flashes lol)
YOU DID GOOD!
😀
Ploporama! Did I not say? Oh no, I did, but I got it wrong. Jeez I am a clod. A partial success then! Phnark. Yep, Mary, that’s me. Did you think I was a bloke?
Cheers

NOPE DEFINITELY Female lol – you are known the length and breadth of Cyberworld as MTM 😀 😀 😀
This is true. I kind of like being MTM. Originally I was going to publish under the name MTM books with a spoof MGM style logo with a yawning cat in the middle. I’m married to an intellectual property lawyer though, and he advised against it. 😉

Wise man 😀
Congratulations!
Thanks. 😉
Lol, great interview sweetie!!! Well done you!!!! HUGE congrats, that’s fantastic! I think you did very well, I’d start falling over my tongue I think. Lol, so funny, on Authonomy my name was Tollam, for ages people thought I was a bloke too! I kind of liked the anonymity though. 😀
Cheers chuck. It was great fun and the interviewers know what they are doing and make it easy. 😉

So glad, but honestly, I think you did GREAT! 😀 xx
😉
Great interview 🙂 I took the liberty and isolated your part from the rest, and created an MP3 out of it. You can use it on your blog, youtube channel etc. You can download it on http://www.istomedia.gr/upload/mt.zip
I love you and I want to have your babies. That exact task has been on my to-do list. Thank you thank you. Now I can send it to my Mum.
You are a star.
Cheers

I finally heard it! Great interview, and what an honour to be chosen for this show.
Your personality comes through, as do the personalities of your books.
I’m happy for you, MT!
Thanks. It was fun and the host was really good.

I know it’s a bit late, but I finally got around to listening to it (before it became unavailable on the BBC site… phew!). Love the bubbly sense of humour coming through in everything you say. Hope you get lots of interest and book sales out of the great publicity 🙂
That’s a lovely thing to say and thank you for listening.
Cheers

Still around, listening to it today (thought I’d missed it). Think it says there is another three weeks 🙂 Thought the interviewer asked better questions further in so gave you a better chance to say a bit more.
Mind you, knowing journalists, I’m wondering is she scanned a few chapters and we winged it 😉
What was really interesting was your comment about starting with Ruth and The Pan appearing. That was fascinating,
Thanks. I’m pretty sure she did scan it but she’d obviously been surprised – in a good way and enjoyed what she’d read… which was nice.
It is weird about The Pan isn’t it? I’ve another one in the current book, it’s all turning out to be about him as well as the proper hero and heroine of the piece.

Some of us read and scan really quickly. Do you remember those strange adverts for how to read and memorise things quickly? I read and assimilate 50% and … 100% of errors. No idea what that says about me.
The Pan is an amazingly strong character. Much as I love LV’s glorious evil wickedness, The Pan matches him. And he is cute too. There’s no reason to drop The Pan, if he keeps coming back, you keep writing about him.
Every good editor should have a touch of the pedant in them! 😉
I love The Pan dearly, myself. Which is a bit creepy and weird because I created him. Except it really doesn’t feel as if I created any of my characters they just kind of grew on their own. It’s funny, I remember being so relieved when my first book was finally published, because I knew that when I get old and go senile and start believing my characters are real, or trying to leave them stuff in my will, McMini and others will know exactly what’s going on and who they are.
Cheers
